2000 saw the release of the single “American Bad Ass,” and the album which it was from, The History of Rock. Other fan favorites from this album include “Cold and Empty” and “Prodigal Son.” Kid Rock toured throughout 2000 with Metallica on their Summer Sanitarium tour. In January of 2001, Kid Rock won the American Music Award for Favorite Male Pop/Rock. Kid Rock also starred alongside David Spade and Christopher Walken in 2001′s hit comedy Joe Dirt.
